JOHNNY ”BIG MOOSE” WALKER blue love
Born in Greenville, Miss., in 1929, Walker toured the South in the late ’40s and ’50s backing Lowell Fulson and Elmore James among others before settling in Chicago in 1959. In the Sixties, “Big Moose” toured and recorded with Earl Hooker, Otis Rush, Mighty Joe Young, Magic Sam and many of the other Windy City blues greats; his session credits in the Seventies included work with Son Seals, Junior Wells and Jimmy Dawkins. Blue Love was Walker’s first recording as a solo artist in 1984, and presents him as one of the biggest, strongest blues pianists and singers in the world.
