Evidence Music is proud to announce the new release of a 60 MINUTE DVD of Pharoah Sanders “Live in San Francisco.” Footage for the DVD was shot in 1981 at San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall, and at Marin Headlands in 1982.
The DVD features Pharoah and his band, which includes Pharoah on tenor sax, John Hicks on piano, Walter Booker on bass and Idris Muhammad on drums. The full band is featured on the tracks Doktor Pitt and Blues for Santa Cruz, while Pharoah hooks up with Paul Arslanian on harmonium for the tune An Abandoned Tunnel. Wrapping up the DVD is a 1982 interview with Herb Wong.
